When you come to the UK as a student, you can get one of two main types of study visas. You would need to apply for a short-term study visa if you were taking a short-term course.

This kind of visa is good for 6 months and can be extended for another 6 months, for a total of 11 months. If you want to take a longer course, you must make sure that the school you choose has a Tier 4 Sponsor License.

If you are over 16 years old, you can apply for this student visa. The Tier 4 Sponsor License can be split into the Tier 4 Child student visa and the Tier 4 General student visa.

The next step is to know what requirements need to be met as part of the application process.

Only students over the age of 16 can choose this option. If you are between the ages of 16 and 17, you can work no more than 10 hours per week while school is in session.

How to Apply

You can apply for a streamlined visa process to study for a master’s degree at one of the 27 eligible universities. This is a part of the new Tier 4 study scheme.

Your course of study would have to be at least 13 months, and you can apply from inside or outside the UK. The pilot study scheme lets you stay longer after the end of your course (up to 6 months).

Once you have finished your course, you won’t have to show proof of your grades or money.
